Related Product Information for anti-ARPC2 antibody
The Arp2/3 protein complex has been implicated in the control of actin polymerization in cells and has been conserved through evolution. The exact role of the protein encoded by this gene, the p34 subunit, has yet to be determined. Two alternatively spliced variants have been characterized to date. Additional alternatively spliced variants have been described but their full length nature has not been determined.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes one of seven subunits of the human Arp2/3 protein complex. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

ARPC2: Functions as actin-binding component of the Arp2/3 complex which is involved in regulation of actin polymerization and together with an activating nucleation-promoting factor (NPF) mediates the formation of branched actin networks. Seems to contact the mother actin filament. Belongs to the ARPC2 family.

Protein type: Cytoskeletal; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Actin-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q36.1

Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; Arp2/3 protein complex; neuron projection; focal adhesion; cytoplasm; leading edge; plasma membrane; synapse; cytosol; endosome; actin cytoskeleton

Molecular Function: actin filament binding; protein binding; structural constituent of cytoskeleton; kinesin binding

Product Notes

The ARPC2 arpc2 (Catalog #AAA6463892) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Arc p34 (ARP2/3 Complex 34kD subunit, Actin-related Protein 2/3 Complex subunit 2) (FITC) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Arc p34 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin. ICC: Detects p34-Arc/ARPC2 in C2C12 cells. WB: 0.5-2ug/ml detects p34-ARC in RIPA lysates from human A431, Jurkat and mouse 3T3 cells. A431 cell lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with anti-p34-Arc (1ug/ml). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-rabbit IgG labeled with HRP* and a chemiluminescence detection system. IHC-P: 10ug/ml detects p34-Arc in mouse array tissue and formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded human adenocarcinoma tissue. Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ARPC2 arpc2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Arc p34, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
