Related Product Information for anti-APOBEC3C antibody
This gene is a member of the cytidine deaminase gene family. It is one of seven related genes or pseudogenes found in a cluster thought to result from gene duplication, on chromosome 22. Members of the cluster encode proteins that are structurally and functionally related to the C to U RNA-editing cytidine deaminase APOBEC1. It is thought that the proteins may be RNA editing enzymes and have roles in growth or cell cycle control.

Uniprot Description

APOBEC3C: Host cellular restriction factor that may have antiviral activities against exogenous and endogenous viruses, as well as retrotransposons. May also play a role in the epigenetic regulation of gene expression through the process of active DNA demethylation. Belongs to the cytidine and deoxycytidylate deaminase family.

Protein type: Hydrolase; EC 3.5.4.-; RNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 22q13.1

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; zinc ion binding; hydrolase activity, acting on carbon-nitrogen (but not peptide) bonds, in cyclic amidines

Biological Process: viral reproduction; negative regulation of viral genome replication; innate immune response; cytidine deamination; defense response to virus

Product Notes

The APOBEC3C apobec3c (Catalog #AAA9402851) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The APOBEC3C antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's APOBEC3C can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF). Western blotting: 1:500 - 1:2000 Immunofluorescence: 1:50 - 1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the APOBEC3C apobec3c for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "APOBEC3C, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
