Western Blot (WB)

(Anti-NRF1 Antibody - Western Blot. Western blot of Protein A Purified anti-NRF1 antibody shows detection of a 67-kD band corresponding to human NRF1 in a (lane 1) HeLa nuclear extract and (lane 2) whole cell lysate (molecular weight marker not shown). Approx. 10 ug of each lysate was separated by SDS-PAGE and transferred onto nitrocellulose. The blot was incubated with a 1:500 dilution of the antibody at room temperature for 1 h followed by detection using IRDye700 labeled Goat-a-Rabbit IgG [H&L] (diluted 1:2500. IRDye700 fluorescence image was captured using the Odyssey Infrared Imaging System developed by LI-COR. IRDye is a trademark of LI-COR, Inc. Other detection systems will yield similar results.)

Related Product Information for anti-NRF1 antibody
NRF1 (also known as nuclear respiratory factor 1, alpha palindromic binding protein and alpha-pal) is the mammalian homolog to the erect wing (ewg) Drosophila protein that is required for proper development of the central nervous system and indirect flight muscles. In mammals NRF1 functions as a transcription factor that activates the expression of the EIF2S1 (EIF2-alpha) gene.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that homodimerizes and functions as a transcription factor which activates the expression of some key metabolic genes regulating cellular growth and nuclear genes required for respiration, heme biosynthesis, and mitochondrial DNA transcription and replication. The protein has also been associated with the regulation of neurite outgrowth. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Confusion has occurred in bibliographic databases due to the shared symbol of NRF1 for this gene and for "nuclear factor (erythroid-derived 2)-like 1" which has an official symbol of NFE2L1. Uniprot Description

NRF1: Transcription factor that activates the expression of the EIF2S1 (EIF2-alpha) gene. Links the transcriptional modulation of key metabolic genes to cellular growth and development. Implicated in the control of nuclear genes required for respiration, heme biosynthesis, and mitochondrial DNA transcription and replication. Belongs to the NRF1/Ewg family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: DNA-binding; Transcription factor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7q32

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm

Biological Process: mitochondrion organization and biogenesis; organ regeneration; generation of precursor metabolites and energy; transcription, DNA-dependent; organelle organization and biogenesis; response to lipopolysaccharide; cellular lipid metabolic process; response to estradiol stimulus; regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; response to folic acid; response to hypoxia; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; response to electrical stimulus

Product Notes

The NRF1 nrf1 (Catalog #AAA240505) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Polyclonal to Mouse NRF1 / NRF-1 reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NRF1 / NRF-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). ELISA (1:3000 - 1:10000), IHC-P (2 - 5 ug/ml), WB (1:500 - 1:2000) Usage: Immunohistochemistry: was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibo.. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NRF1 nrf1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NRF1 / NRF-1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
