Related Product Information for anti-AOPEP antibody
This gene encodes a member of the M1 zinc aminopeptidase
family. The encoded protein is a zinc-dependent metallopeptidase
that catalyzes the removal of an amino acid from the amino terminus
of a protein or peptide. This protein may play a role in the
generation of angiotensin IV. Alternate splicing results in
multiple transcript variants.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the M1 zinc aminopeptidase family. The encoded protein is a zinc-dependent metallopeptidase that catalyzes the removal of an amino acid from the amino terminus of a protein or peptide. This protein may play a role in the generation of angiotensin IV. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2010]

Uniprot Description

ONPEP: Aminopeptidases catalyze the hydrolysis of amino acid residues from the N-terminus of peptide or protein substrates. Able to cleave angiotensin III to generate angiotensin IV, a bioactive peptide of the renin-angiotensin pathway. Not able to cleave angiotensin I and angiotensin II. May play a role in the proteolytic processing of bioactive peptides in tissues such as testis and heart. Belongs to the peptidase M1 family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Protease; EC 3.4.11.-

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 9q22.32

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleolus

Molecular Function: zinc ion binding; metallopeptidase activity; aminopeptidase activity

Biological Process: leukotriene biosynthetic process; proteolysis

Product Notes

The AOPEP aopep (Catalog #AAA9209994) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 215-242. The AOPEP Antibody (N-term) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's AOPEP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AOPEP aopep for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "AOPEP, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
