Related Product Information for anti-AMBRA1 antibody
Rabbit anti AMBRA1 (C-Terminal) antibody recognizes human Activating molecule in beclin-1-regulated autophagy (AMBRA1), also known as WDR94. AMBRA1 is involved in the regulation of autophagy. Research indicates that it controls protein turnover during neuronal development and in regulating normal cell survival and proliferation. At least 5 isoforms of AMBRA have been identified.

Uniprot Description

AMBRA1: a WD40 protein that regulates autophagy and development of the nervous system. A highly conserved vertebrate protein whose expression is mostly confined to the neuroepithelium during early neurogenesis. Involved in autophagy in controlling protein turnover during neuronal development, and in regulating normal cell survival and proliferation. Interacts with ATG6. Forms a complex with ATG6 and PIK3C3. Its functional inactivation in mouse is lethal in utero (starting from embryonic day 14.5), leading to severe neural tube defects associated with autophagy impairment, accumulation of ubiquitinated proteins, and excessive apoptosis. Hyperproliferation followed by a wave of caspase-dependent cell death was the earliest detectable abnormality in the developing neuroepithelium. Five isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Vesicle; Autophagy

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11p11.2

Cellular Component: mitochondrial outer membrane; mitochondrion; intracellular membrane-bound organelle; cytoplasm; autophagic vacuole; axoneme; phagocytic vesicle; cytosol

Molecular Function: protein binding; ubiquitin protein ligase binding

Biological Process: neural tube development; negative regulation of cell proliferation; autophagy; positive regulation of phosphoinositide 3-kinase activity; negative regulation of neuron apoptosis; cell differentiation

Product Notes

The AMBRA1 ambra1 (Catalog #AAA224119) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RABBIT ANTI AMBRA1 (C-TERMINAL) reacts with Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's AMBRA1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB). Immunofluorescence: Maximum Dilution: 20ug/ml; Immunohistology - Paraffin: Minimum Dilution: 5ug/ml; Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose. Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 1; Maximum Dilution: 2ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AMBRA1 ambra1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "AMBRA1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
