NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene may represent an evolving pseudogene of the alpha-enolase (enolase 1, alpha non-neuron) gene, which has multiple pseudogenes. This gene has an intact open reading frame as well as strong transcriptional support. The length of encoded protein is conserved, compared to the original enolase 1 protein. The exact function of this gene is unknown. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
ENO1: an abundant cytoplasmic enzyme with 2-phospho-D-glycerate hydro-lyase activity. A target of excess protein nitration in Alzheimer disease (AD) brain. Tau-crystallin, a structural lens protein, is produced from an alternative translation start in the enolase gene.
Protein type: EC 4.2.1.11; Carbohydrate Metabolism - glycolysis and gluconeogenesis; Lyase; Transcription, coactivator/corepressor
Cellular Component: cytoplasm; extracellular space; extrinsic to plasma membrane; membrane; neuron projection; nucleus
Molecular Function: GTPase binding; heat shock protein binding; phosphopyruvate hydratase activity; protein heterodimerization activity; protein homodimerization activity; RNA binding
Biological Process: in utero embryonic development; positive regulation of binding

Product Notes
The Eno1b eno1 (Catalog #AAA1489591) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti-mouse Alpha-enolase polyclonal Antibody reacts with Mouse, Human. Other species are not tested. Please decide the specificity by homology. and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Alpha-enolase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Eno1b eno1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Alpha-enolase, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
