NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene is one of several closely related genes on chromosome 7 encoding proteins containing helix-loop-helix motifs. These proteins may function as regulators of transcription. The encoded protein is unique in that its C-terminus is derived from CHARLIE8 transposable element sequence. This gene is located in a region of chromosome 7 that is deleted in Williams-Beuren syndrome, and loss of this locus may contribute to the cognitive phenotypes observed in this disease. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]
Uniprot Description
GTF2IRD2: GTF2IRD2 is located in the Williams-Beuren syndrome (WBS) critical region. WBS results from a hemizygous deletion of several genes on chromosome 7q11.23, thought to arise as a consequence of unequal crossing over between highly homologous low-copy repeat sequences flanking the deleted region. Belongs to the TFII-I family. 6 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: DNA-binding
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7q11.23
Cellular Component: nucleus
Molecular Function: DNA binding
Biological Process: transcription, DNA-dependent; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent

Product Notes
The GTF2IRD2 gtf2ird2 (Catalog #AAA9213025) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 812-841. The GTD2A Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GTD2A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GTF2IRD2 gtf2ird2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GTD2A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
