Related Product Information for anti-AKT3 antibody
AKT 3 or Protein Kinase B (PKB) is a serine/threonine kinase that is a member of the AKTgamma (PKBgammaB family. AKT 3 is activated in cells exposed to diverse stimuli such as hormones, growth factors, and extracellular matrix components (1). AKT 3 phosphorylates and regulates the function of many cellular proteins involved in processes that include cellular metabolism, survival/apoptosis, and proliferation. Recent evidence indicates that AKT 3 is frequently overexpressed in many types of human cancers including breast and prostate (2).

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the AKT, also called PKB, serine/threonine protein kinase family. AKT kinases are known to be regulators of cell signaling in response to insulin and growth factors. They are involved in a wide variety of biological processes including cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, tumorigenesis, as well as glycogen synthesis and glucose uptake. This kinase has been shown to be stimulated by platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), insulin, and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF1). Alternatively splice transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Akt3: an AGC kinase that plays a critical role in controlling the balance between survival and apoptosis. Stimulated by platelet-derived growth factor, insulin, and insulin-like growth factor 1. Alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The AKT3 akt3 (Catalog #AAA515829) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-AKT3 reacts with Western blot AKT3 from human, mouse cells AKT3 from other species may also be detectable. and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's AKT3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 22152:23151. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AKT3 akt3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "AKT3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
