NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the actin-related proteins (ARP), which form multiprotein complexes and share 35-55% amino acid identity with conventional actin. The protein encoded by this gene may have a regulatory role in the actin cytoskeleton and induce cell-shape change and motility. Pseudogenes of this gene are located on chromosomes 2, 4, 10, 16, 22 and Y. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants and protein isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012]

Uniprot Description

ACTR3B: Plays a role in the organization of the actin cytoskeleton. May function as ATP-binding component of the Arp2/3 complex which is involved in regulation of actin polymerization and together with an activating nucleation-promoting factor (NPF) mediates the formation of branched actin networks. May decrease the metastatic potential of tumors. Belongs to the actin family. ARP3 subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cytoskeletal

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7q36.1

Cellular Component: Arp2/3 protein complex; cell projection; cytoplasm

Molecular Function: actin binding; ATP binding

Product Notes

The ACTR3B actr3b (Catalog #AAA7124559) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ACTR3B Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ACTR3B can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). ELISA: 1:1000-1:2000 WB: 1:200-1:1000 IHC: 1:15-1:50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ACTR3B actr3b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ACTR3B, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
