NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the Abelson family of nonreceptor tyrosine protein kinases. The protein is highly similar to the c-abl oncogene 1 protein, including the tyrosine kinase, SH2 and SH3 domains, and it plays a role in cytoskeletal rearrangements through its C-terminal F-actin- and microtubule-binding sequences. This gene is expressed in both normal and tumor cells, and is involved in translocation with the ets variant 6 gene in leukemia. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different protein isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]
Uniprot Description
Arg: a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase of the Abl family. Expressed at the highest levels in mature B cells. Promotes catalase degradation in the oxidative stress response. Localizes to dynamic actin structures and may regulate cytoskeleton remodeling during cell differentiation, cell division and cell adhesion. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The ABL1 abl2 (Catalog #AAA6460904) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ABL1 (Tyrosine-protein kinase ABL1, ABLJTK7, Abelson murine leukemia viral oncogene homolog 1, Abelson tyrosine-protein kinase 1, Proto-oncogene c-Abl) (AP) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ABL1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:1,000 ELISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ABL1 abl2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ABL1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
