Mouse polymerase (DNA directed) kappa ELISA Kit | POLK elisa kit
Mouse DNA polymerase kappa, POLK ELISA Kit
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
POLK: DNA polymerase specifically involved in DNA repair. Plays an important role in translesion synthesis, where the normal high-fidelity DNA polymerases cannot proceed and DNA synthesis stalls. Depending on the context, it inserts the correct base, but causes frequent base transitions, transversions and frameshifts. Lacks 3'-5' proofreading exonuclease activity. Forms a Schiff base with 5'-deoxyribose phosphate at abasic sites, but does not have lyase activity. Belongs to the DNA polymerase type-Y family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: DNA repair, damage; DNA replication; EC 2.7.7.7; Transferase
Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; nucleus
Molecular Function: transferase activity; DNA binding; metal ion binding; DNA-directed DNA polymerase activity; damaged DNA binding; nucleotidyltransferase activity
Biological Process: nucleotide-excision repair, DNA gap filling; DNA replication; DNA repair; response to DNA damage stimulus

Product Notes
The Mouse POLK polk (Catalog #AAA9316049) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9316049 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse POLK. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "polymerase (DNA directed) kappa, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
