Related Product Information for PNLIP recombinant protein
Background: PNLIP is an enzyme that belongs to the lipase family. Secreted from the pancreas, PNLIP is the primary lipase that hydrolyzes dietary fat molecules in the human digestive system, converting triglyceride substrates found in ingested oils to monoglycerides and free fatty acids. Bile salts secreted from the liver and stored in gallbladder are released into the duodenum where they coat and emulsify large fat droplets into smaller droplets, thus increasing the overall surface area of the fat, which allows the lipase to break apart the fat more effectively. The resulting monomers (2 free fatty acids and one 2-monoacylglycerol) are then moved by way of peristalsis along the small intestine to be absorbed into the lymphatic system by a specialized vessel called a lacteal.

Product Notes

The PNLIP pnlip (Catalog #AAA8121467) is a Recombinant Protein produced from HEK293 Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Met1-Cys46 5. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PNLIP, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
