Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 0.1% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide.
Applicable Applications for ARL6IP1 peptide
ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes
The peptide is used for blocking the activity of ARMER (CT) (ARL6IP, AIP1) antibody. It usually blocks the antibody activity completely in Western blot by incubating the peptide with equal volume of antibody for 30 min at 37 degree C.
Location
15aa near the amino terminus of human ARMER (1).
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

NCBI Description

This gene belongs to the ARL6ip family and encodes a transmembrane protein that is predominantly localized to intracytoplasmic membranes. It is highly expressed in early myeloid progenitor cells and thought to be involved in protein transport, membrane trafficking, or cell signaling during hematopoietic maturation. Mutations in this gene are associated with spastic paraplegia 61 (SPG61). Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

Uniprot Description

Function: May be involved in protein transport, membrane trafficking, or cell signaling during hematopoietic maturation.

Subunit structure: Interacts with ARL6

By similarity.

Subcellular location: Endomembrane system; Multi-pass membrane protein. Note: Predominantly localized to intracytoplasmic membranes. Ref.3

Tissue specificity: Expressed in all hematopoietic cell lineages, but the highest level of expression is found in early myeloid progenitor cells. Expressed in brain, bone marrow, thymus and lung. Expressed at low level in liver, kidney and spleen. Not detected in heart. Ref.3

Developmental stage: Down-regulated during myeloid differentiation.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the ARL6ip family.

Sequence caution: The sequence BAA06683.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous initiation.

Product Notes

The ARL6IP1 arl6ip1 (Catalog #AAA657994) is a Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's ARMER can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). The peptide is used for blocking the activity of ARMER (CT) (ARL6IP, AIP1) antibody. It usually blocks the antibody activity completely in Western blot by incubating the peptide with equal volume of antibody for 30 min at 37 degree C. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ARL6IP1 arl6ip1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ARMER, Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
