Related Product Information for OSTF1 recombinant protein
Osteoclast-stimulating factor-1 (OSTF1) is an intracellular protein produced by osteoclasts that indirectly induces osteoclast (OCL) formation and bone resorption. OSTF1 is highly expressed in OCL and contains structural domains such as SH3 and ankyrin repeats, which are potentially involved in protein-protein interactions. OSTF1 is ubiquitously expressed analogous to other regulators of OCL activity such as c-Src or transforming growth factor beta. Recombinant human OSTF1 protein, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

Osteoclast-stimulating factor-1 is an intracellular protein produced by osteoclasts that indirectly induces osteoclast formation and bone resorption (Reddy et al., 1998 [PubMed 10092216]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

Uniprot Description

Induces bone resorption, acting probably through a signaling cascade which results in the secretion of factor(s) enhancing osteoclast formation and activity.

Product Notes

The OSTF1 ostf1 (Catalog #AAA203303) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's OSTF1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the OSTF1 ostf1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MSKPPPKPVK PGEGGQVKVF RALYTFEPRT PDELYFEEGD IIYITDMSDT NWWKGTSKGR TGLIPSNYVA EQAESIDNPL HEAAKRGNLS WLRECLDNRV GVNGLDKAGS TALYWACHGG HKDIVEMLFT QPNIELNQQN KLGDTALHAA AWKGYADIVQ LFLAKGARTD LRNIEKKLAF DMATNAACAS LLKKKQGTDA VRTLSNAEDY LDDEDSDLEH HHHHH. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "OSTF1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
