Uniprot Description

OGDH: The 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex catalyzes the overall conversion of 2-oxoglutarate to succinyl-CoA and CO(2). It contains multiple copies of three enzymatic components: 2- oxoglutarate dehydrogenase (E1), dihydrolipoamide succinyltransferase (E2) and lipoamide dehydrogenase (E3). Belongs to the alpha-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Amino Acid Metabolism - lysine degradation; Amino Acid Metabolism - tryptophan; Carbohydrate Metabolism - citrate (TCA) cycle; EC 1.2.4.2; Mitochondrial; Oxidoreductase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11|11 A1

Cellular Component: mitochondrion; oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex

Molecular Function: chaperone binding; heat shock protein binding; oxoglutarate dehydrogenase (succinyl-transferring) activity

Biological Process: 2-oxoglutarate metabolic process; cerebellar cortex development; hippocampus development; NADH metabolic process; pyramidal neuron development; striatum development; succinyl-CoA metabolic process; tangential migration from the subventricular zone to the olfactory bulb; thalamus development; tricarboxylic acid cycle

Product Notes

The Ogdh ogdh (Catalog #AAA9423399) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is Partial, 705-1023aa. The Recombinant Mouse 2-oxoglutaRate dehydrogenase, mitochondrial (Ogdh), partial reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "2-oxoglutaRate dehydrogenase, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
