Related Product Information for NTF3 elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: The Picokine™ Human NTF3 Pre-Coated ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is a solid phase immunoassay specially designed to measure Human NTF3 with a 96-well strip plate that is pre-coated with antibody specific for NTF3. The detection antibody is a biotinylated antibody specific for NTF3. The capture antibody is monoclonal antibody from mouse, the detection antibody is polyclonal antibody from goat. The kit contains recombinant Human NTF3 with immunogen: Expression system for standard: sf21; Immunogen sequence: Y139-T257. The kit is analytically validated with ready to use reagents. To measure Human NTF3, add standards and samples to the wells, then add the biotinylated detection antibody. Wash the wells with PBS or TBS buffer, and add Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex (ABC-HRP). Wash away the unbounded ABC-HRP with PBS or TBS buffer and add TMB. TMB is substrate to HRP and will be catalyzed to produce a blue color product, which changes into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of the yellow product is linearly proportional to Human NTF3 in the sample. Read the density of the yellow product in each well using a plate reader, and benchmark the sample wells' readings against the standard curve to determine the concentration of Human NTF3 in the sample.!!Background/Introduction: Neurotrophin-3(NT-3) is a new member of the nerve growth factor gene family, which plays an important role in the development and maintenance of the vertebrate nervous system. NT-3 and its receptor, called neurotrophic tyrosine kinase receptor type 3(Ntrk3; also called TrkC), are expressed early and throughout embryogenesis. NT-3 is one of five neurotrophin growth factors which shape the development of the nervous system by regulating neuronal survival and differentiation. NT-3 may be one of the central nervous system-derived factors that mediate neural crest(NC) cell proliferation in vivo. NT-3 has been mapped to human chromosome 12p and mouse chromosome 6.1

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the neurotrophin family, that controls survival and differentiation of mammalian neurons. This protein is closely related to both nerve growth factor and brain-derived neurotrophic factor. It may be involved in the maintenance of the adult nervous system, and may affect development of neurons in the embryo when it is expressed in human placenta. NTF3-deficient mice generated by gene targeting display severe movement defects of the limbs. The mature peptide of this protein is identical in all mammals examined including human, pig, rat and mouse. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

NT-3: Seems to promote the survival of visceral and proprioceptive sensory neurons. Belongs to the NGF-beta family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Human NTF3 ntf3 (Catalog #AAA175909) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA175909 ELISA Kit recognizes Human NTF3. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Neurotrophin-3, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
