A DNA sequence encoding the human NRG4 (Q8WWG1) extracellular domain (Pro 2-Phe 62) was expressed and purified, with additional two amino acids (Gly & Pro) at the N-terminus.
Reconstitution
A hardcopy of COA with reconstitution instruction is sent along with the products. Please refer to it for detailed information.
Preparation and Storage
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. Store it under sterile conditions at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
In general, recombinant proteins are provided as lyophilized powder which are shipped at ambient temperature. Bulk packages of recombinant proteins are provided as frozen liquid.
They are shipped out with blue ice.

Related Product Information for NRG4 recombinant protein
Background: NRG4 (neuregulin 4) is a member of the neuregulin protein family. The neuregulins consist of four structurally-related proteins that are part of the EGF family of proteins. It has been shown that these proteins have diverse functions in the development of the nervous system and play multiple essential roles in vertebrate embryogenesis including cardiac development, Schwann cell, and oligodendrocyte differentiation, some aspects of neuronal development, as well as the formation of neuromuscular synapses. NRG4 contains 1 EGF-like domain. It activates type-1 growth factor receptors to initiating cell-to-cell signaling through tyrosine phosphorylation. NRG4 is a low-affinity ligand for the ERBB4 tyrosine kinase receptor. It concomitantly recruits ERBB1 and ERBB2 coreceptors, resulting in ligand-stimulated tyrosine phosphorylation and activation of the ERBB receptors. However, it does not bind to the ERBB1, ERBB2, and ERBB3 receptors.

NCBI Description

The neuregulins, including NRG4, activate type-1 growth factor receptors (see EGFR; MIM 131550) to initiating cell-to-cell signaling through tyrosine phosphorylation (Harari et al., 1999 [PubMed 10348342]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

Uniprot Description

NRG4: Low affinity ligand for the ERBB4 tyrosine kinase receptor. Concomitantly recruits ERBB1 and ERBB2 coreceptors, resulting in ligand-stimulated tyrosine phosphorylation and activation of the ERBB receptors. Does not bind to the ERBB1, ERBB2 and ERBB3 receptors. Belongs to the neuregulin family.

Product Notes

The NRG4 nrg4 (Catalog #AAA8121113) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Pro2-Phe62. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NRG4, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
