Related Product Information for NQO1 recombinant protein
NQO1 is a member of the NAD (P)H dehydrogenase (quinone) family and encodes a cytoplasmic 2-electron reductase. This protein apparently serves as a quinone reductase in connection with conjugation reactions of hydroquinons involved in detoxification pathways as well as in biosynthetic processes such as the vitamin K-dependent gamma-carboxylation of glutamate residues in prothrombin synthesis. NQO1 functions as an important part of cellular antioxidant defense by detoxifying quinines thus preventing the formation of reactive oxygen species. Altered expression of NQO1 has been seen in many tumors and is also associated with Alzheimer's disease (AD). Recombinant NQO1 protein was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the NAD(P)H dehydrogenase (quinone) family and encodes a cytoplasmic 2-electron reductase. This FAD-binding protein forms homodimers and reduces quinones to hydroquinones. This protein's enzymatic activity prevents the one electron reduction of quinones that results in the production of radical species. Mutations in this gene have been associated with tardive dyskinesia (TD), an increased risk of hematotoxicity after exposure to benzene, and susceptibility to various forms of cancer. Altered expression of this protein has been seen in many tumors and is also associated with Alzheimer's disease (AD). Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

The enzyme apparently serves as a quinone reductase in connection with conjugation reactions of hydroquinons involved in detoxification pathways as well as in biosynthetic processes such as the vitamin K-dependent gamma-carboxylation of glutamate residues in prothrombin synthesis.

Product Notes

The NQO1 nqo1 (Catalog #AAA203393) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's NQO1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NQO1 nqo1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MVGRRALIVL AHSERTSFNY AMKEAAAAAL KKKGWEVVES DLYAMNFNPI ISRKDITGKL KDPANFQYPA ESVLAYKEGH LSPDIVAEQK KLEAADLVIF QFPLQWFGVP AILKGWFERV FIGEFAYTYA AMYDKGPFRS KKAVLSITTG GSGSMYSLQG IHGDMNVILW PIQSGILHFC GFQVLEPQLT YSIGHTPADA RIQILEGWKK RLENIWDETP LYFAPSSLFD LNFQAGFLMK KEVQDEEKNK KFGLSVGHHL GKSIPTDNQI KARK. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NQO1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
