Dog IgM whole molecule can be utilized as a control or standard reagent in Western Blotting and ELISA experiments. All assays should be optimized by the user.
Biological Significance
Immunoglobulin M, or IgM for short, is a basic antibody that is produced by B cells. It is the primary antibody against A and B antigens on red blood cells. IgM is by far the physically largest antibody in the human circulatory system. It is the first antibody to appear in response to initial exposure to antigen.
Contaminants
A single precipitin arc was observed in IEP against anH-Dog serum, and anti-Dog IgM (~chain specific), no reaction was observed against anti-Dog F(c).

This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling this product.

Preparation and Storage
Store at 4°C prior to opening. For longer storage mix with an equal volume of glycerol and store at -20°C. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
