Principle of the Assay||This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. anti-Human MUC17 antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-Human MUC17 antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Human MUC17 amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of Human MUC17 can be calculated.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a membrane-bound mucin that provides protection to gut epithelial cells. The encoded protein contains about 60 tandem repeats, with each repeat being around 60 aa. N-glycosylation enables the encoded protein to localize on the cell surface, while the C-terminus interacts with the scaffold protein PDZ domain containing 1 (PDZK1). Two transcript variants, one protein-coding and the other non-protein coding, have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2015]
