Rat, Mouse DISC1 Phospho-Regulation Antibody Sampler Kit | DISC1 antibody sampler kit
DISC1 Phospho-Regulation
Background: Disrupted in schizophrenia 1 (DISC1) is a multifunctional scaffold protein that has important roles in neurodevelopment.DISC1 is expressed in both neuronal progenitor cells and postmitotic neurons in the developing cerebral cortex. DISC1can interact with both centrosomal proteins and dynein-motor related proteins. In addition, DISC1 interacts with andinhibits the kinase GSK-3beta to enable Wnt activation of beta-catenin-mediated gene transcription and neuron proliferation. These functions of DISC1 may be regulated by post-translational modification. PKA and CDK5 can phosphorylate Ser-710, and a non-phosphorylatable Ser-710 mutant shows decreased interaction with the centrosomal proteins, BBS1 andBBS4, while a constituitively phosphorylated Ser-710 mutant shows increased interaction with these proteins. Duringneuronal progenitor cell proliferation, DISC1 phosphorylation at Ser-710 is low and the interaction with GSK-3beta is enhanced. By contrast, DISC1 phosphorylation is increased, association with GSK-3beta is decreased, and interaction withBBS1 is enhanced during post mitotic neuron migration.

Product Notes
The Rat, Mouse DISC1 (Catalog #AAA474297) is an Antibody Sampler Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA474297 Antibody Sampler Kit recognizes Rat, Mouse DISC1. AAA Biotech's DISC1 Phospho-Regulation can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DISC1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DISC1 Phospho-Regulation, Antibody Sampler Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
