Related Product Information for anti-c-Myc Tag antibody
The c-myc gene (8q24 on human chromosome) is the cellular homologue of the v-myc gene originally isolated from an avian myelocytomatosis virus. The c-Myc protein is a transcription factor (nuclear localization). c-Myc is commonly activated in a variety of tumor cells and plays an important role in cellular proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis and cell cycle progression. The phosphorylation of c-Myc has been investigated and previous studies have suggested a functional association between phosphorylation at Thr58/Ser62 by glycogen synthase kinase 3, cyclin-dependent kinase, ERK2 and C-Jun N-terminal Kinase (JNK) in cell proliferation and cell cycle regulation. In normal cells the expression of c-Myc is tightly regulated but in human cancers c-Myc is frequently deregulated. c-Myc is also essential for tumor cell development in vasculogenesis and angiogenesis that distribute blood throughout the cells.

Product Notes

The c-Myc Tag (Catalog #AAA1800304) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-c-Myc Tag FITC reacts with Tagged fusion proteins in all species, Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's c-Myc Tag can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). FC/FACS: QC tested. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the c-Myc Tag for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "c-Myc Tag, Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
