Usage Notes
* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Description: This Mouse Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 18 (TNFRSF18) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate TNFRSF18 in samples. An antibody specific for TNFRSF18 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any TNFRSF18 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for TNFRSF18 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of TNFRSF18 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: GITR (glucocorticoid-induced tumor necrosis factor receptor) is a surface receptor molecule that has been shown to be involved in inhibiting the suppressive activity of T-regulatory cells and extending the survival of T-effector cells. In mouse models, GITR was initially noted to be selectively enriched on the surface of regulatory T cells, making this an attractive potential surface marker for these rare cells. However, subsequent studies revealed GITR to also be up-regulated on any activated T cells in humans, thus undermining its utility as a regulatory T cell marker.Members of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and TNF receptor (TNFR) superfamilies, such as TNFRSF18, regulate diverse biologic functions, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. Uniprot Description

TNFRSF18: Receptor for TNFSF18. Seems to be involved in interactions between activated T-lymphocytes and endothelial cells and in the regulation of T-cell receptor-mediated cell death. Mediated NF-kappa-B activation via the TRAF2/NIK pathway. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Receptor, cytokine; Apoptosis

Cellular Component: membrane; integral to plasma membrane; extracellular region; plasma membrane; integral to membrane; external side of plasma membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding

Product Notes

The Mouse TNFRSF18 tnfrsf18 (Catalog #AAA9716735) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9716735 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse TNFRSF18. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor Superfamily Member 18 (TNFRSF18), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
