Related Product Information for SNAP-25 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Mouse Slit2 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Mouse Slit2. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Mouse Slit2 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Mouse Slit2, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Mouse Slit2. You can calculate the concentration of Mouse Slit2 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

Synaptic vesicle membrane docking and fusion is mediated by SNAREs (soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptors) located on the vesicle membrane (v-SNAREs) and the target membrane (t-SNAREs). The assembled v-SNARE/t-SNARE complex consists of a bundle of four helices, one of which is supplied by v-SNARE and the other three by t-SNARE. For t-SNAREs on the plasma membrane, the protein syntaxin supplies one helix and the protein encoded by this gene contributes the other two. Therefore, this gene product is a presynaptic plasma membrane protein involved in the regulation of neurotransmitter release. Two alternative transcript variants encoding different protein isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

SNAP-25: a presynaptic plasma membrane protein involved in the regulation of neurotransmitter release. May play an important role in the synaptic function of specific neuronal systems. Part of the SNARE core complex containing SNAP25, VAMP2 and syntaxin 1A. Associates with proteins involved in vesicle docking and membrane fusion. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The Mouse SNAP-25 snap25 (Catalog #AAA2514740) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2514740 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse SNAP-25. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SNAP-25, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
