Related Product Information for OC/BGP elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Mouse NUP98 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Mouse NUP98. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Mouse NUP98 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Mouse NUP98, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Mouse NUP98. You can calculate the concentration of Mouse NUP98 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a highly abundant bone protein secreted by osteoblasts that regulates bone remodeling and energy metabolism. The encoded protein contains a Gla (gamma carboxyglutamate) domain, which functions in binding to calcium and hydroxyapatite, the mineral component of bone. Serum osteocalcin levels may be negatively correlated with metabolic syndrome. Read-through transcription exists between this gene and the neighboring upstream gene, PMF1 (polyamine-modulated factor 1), but the encoded protein only shows sequence identity with the upstream gene product. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2015]

Uniprot Description

osteocalcin: Constitutes 1-2% of the total bone protein. It binds strongly to apatite and calcium. Belongs to the osteocalcin/matrix Gla protein family.

Product Notes

The Mouse OC/BGP bglap (Catalog #AAA2511676) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2511676 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse OC/BGP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "OC/BGP, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
