Principle of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse AcSDKP antibody. AcSDKP present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse AcSDKP Antibody is added and binds to AcSDKP in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated AcSDKP antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse AcSDKP. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

Netrin is included in a family of laminin-related secreted proteins. The function of this gene has not yet been defined; however, netrin is thought to be involved in axon guidance and cell migration during development. Mutations and loss of expression of netrin suggest that variation in netrin may be involved in cancer development. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

NTN1: Netrins control guidance of CNS commissural axons and peripheral motor axons. Its association with either DCC or some UNC5 receptors will lead to axon attraction or repulsion, respectively. It also serve as a survival factor via its association with its receptors which prevent the initiation of apoptosis. Involved in tumorigenesis by regulating apoptosis.
