Uniprot Description

leptin: May function as part of a signaling pathway that acts to regulate the size of the body fat depot. An increase in the level of LEP may act directly or indirectly on the CNS to inhibit food intake and/or regulate energy expenditure as part of a homeostatic mechanism to maintain constancy of the adipose mass. Defects in LEP may be a cause of obesity (OBESITY). It is a condition characterized by an increase of body weight beyond the limitation of skeletal and physical requirements, as the result of excessive accumulation of body fat. Belongs to the leptin family.

Product Notes

The Mouse LEP lep (Catalog #AAA2087234) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2087234 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse LEP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Leptin (LEP), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
