Usage Notes
* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for KLK7 elisa kit
Description: This Mouse Kallikrein-7 (KLK7) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate KLK7 in samples. An antibody specific for KLK7 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any KLK7 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for KLK7 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of KLK7 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: Kallikrein-related peptidase 7, also known as KLK7, Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases having diverse physiological functions. Growing evidence suggests that many kallikreins are implicated in carcinogenesis and some have potential as novel cancer and other disease biomarkers. This gene is one of the fifteen kallikrein subfamily members located in a cluster on chromosome 19. Its encoded enzyme is thought to be involved in the proteolysis of intercellular cohesive structures preceding desquamation, which is the shedding of the outermost layer of the epidermis. Alternative splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants encoding the same protein.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the kallikrein subfamily of serine proteases that are involved in diverse physiological functions such as skin desquamation, tooth enamel formation, seminal liquefaction, synaptic neural plasticity and brain function. The encoded preproprotein undergoes proteolytic cleavage of the activation peptide to generate the functional enzyme. This gene is located in a cluster of several related kallikrein genes on chromosome 7. [provided by RefSeq, May 2016]

Uniprot Description

May catalyze the degradation of intercellular cohesive structures in the cornified layer of the skin in the continuous shedding of cells from the skin surface. Specific for amino acid residues with aromatic side chains in the P1 position. Cleaves insulin A chain at '14-Tyr-|-Gln-15' and insulin B chain at '6-Leu-|-Cys-7', '16-Tyr-|-Leu-17', '25-Phe-|-Tyr-26' and '26-Tyr-|-Thr-27'. Could play a role in the activation of precursors to inflammatory cytokines.

Product Notes

The Mouse KLK7 klk7 (Catalog #AAA9717814) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9717814 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse KLK7. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Kallikrein-7 (KLK7), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
