Usage Notes
* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for IL-17 elisa kit
Description: Mouse IL-17 ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate IL-17 in samples. An antibody specific for IL-17 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any IL-17 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for IL-17 is added to the wells. After washing, proprietary Streptavidin-HRP conjugates is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound streptavidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-17 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: Interleukin 17 (IL-17; also known as IL-17A) is a 30 - 35 kDa variably glycosylated homodimeric protein that belongs to a unique family of cysteine-knot related proteins. Its sequence was originally isolated from an activated rodent hybridoma and termed CTLA-8. It is synthesized as a 155 amino acid (aa) precursor that contains a 23 aa signal sequence and a 15 kDa, 132 aa mature segment. Although there are two intrachain disulfide bonds that create a ring reminiscent of those found in cysteine-knot proteins, the actual closed knot structure does not appear to form. IL-17 has one potential N-linked glycosylation site.IL-17, a T cell-derived proinf lammatory cytokine, is produced by TCRalpha/beta+CD4-CD8- thymocytes, as well as by activated CD4+ and CD4+CD45RO+ memory T cells.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a pro-inflammatory cytokine that is a member of the interleukin-17 family. The encoded protein plays a central role in host defense against diverse pathogens. The encoded protein is produced by activated T-cells and certain cell types of innate immune system. The active protein functions as either a homodimer with other interleukin-17 family members and signals through the interleukin-17 receptor to induce inflammatory cytokine production. Aberrant expression of this gene is associated with autoinflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and multiple sclerosis. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

Uniprot Description

Product Notes

The Mouse IL-17 il17a (Catalog #AAA9711585) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9711585 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse IL-17. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL-17, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
