Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of Mouse Glycogen Synthase Kinase-3 Alpha (also known as Gsk3a) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse Gsk3a antibody. Gsk3a present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse Gsk3a Antibody is added and binds to Gsk3a in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated Gsk3a antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse Gsk3a. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

This gene encodes a multifunctional Ser/Thr protein kinase that is implicated in the control of several regulatory proteins including glycogen synthase, and transcription factors, such as JUN. May also mediate the development of insulin resistance by regulating activation of transcription factors. In Wnt signaling, regulates the level and transcriptional activity of nuclear CTNNB1/beta-catenin. Facilitates amyloid precursor protein (APP) processing and the generation of APP-derived amyloid plaques found in Alzheimer disease.
