Rabbit anti-Human, Mouse XDH Polyclonal Antibody | anti-XDH antibody
XDH, NT (XDH, XDHA, Xanthine dehydrogenase/oxidase, Xanthine dehydrogenase, Xanthine oxidase, Xanthine oxidoreductase) (AP)
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of MBS6009226 in mouse lung tissue lysates (35ug/lane). XDH (arrow) was detected usingMBS6009226.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human hepatocarcinoma reacted withMBS6009226, which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of MBS6009226 for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Xanthine dehydrogenase belongs to the group of molybdenum-containing hydroxylases involved in the oxidative metabolism of purines. The encoded protein has been identified as a moonlighting protein based on its ability to perform mechanistically distinct functions. Xanthine dehydrogenase can be converted to xanthine oxidase by reversible sulfhydryl oxidation or by irreversible proteolytic modification. Defects in xanthine dehydrogenase cause xanthinuria, may contribute to adult respiratory stress syndrome, and may potentiate influenza infection through an oxygen metabolite-dependent mechanism. Uniprot Description
XDH: Key enzyme in purine degradation. Catalyzes the oxidation of hypoxanthine to xanthine. Catalyzes the oxidation of xanthine to uric acid. Contributes to the generation of reactive oxygen species. Has also low oxidase activity towards aldehydes (in vitro). Defects in XDH are the cause of xanthinuria type 1 (XU1). Xanthinuria is characterized by excretion of very large amounts of xanthine in the urine and a tendency to form xanthine stones. Uric acid is strikingly diminished in serum and urine. XU1 is due to isolated xanthine dehydrogenase. XU1 patients can metabolize allopurinol. Belongs to the xanthine dehydrogenase family.

Product Notes
The XDH xdh (Catalog #AAA6363929) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The XDH, NT (XDH, XDHA, Xanthine dehydrogenase/oxidase, Xanthine dehydrogenase, Xanthine oxidase, Xanthine oxidoreductase) (AP) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's XDH can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the XDH xdh for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "XDH, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
