Intended Uses: This PCYT1A ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Mouse PCYT1A. This ELISA kit for research use only!

Principle of the Assay: PCYT1A ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-PCYT1A antibody and an PCYT1A-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with PCYT1A-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the PCYT1A concentration since PCYT1A from samples and PCYT1A-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-PCYT1A antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by PCYT1A from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind PCYT1A-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The PCYT1A concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene belongs to the cytidylyltransferase family and is involved in the regulation of phosphatidylcholine biosynthesis. Mutations in this gene are associated with spondylometaphyseal dysplasia with cone-rod dystrophy. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2015]

Product Notes

The Mouse PCYT1A pcyt1a (Catalog #AAA7214406) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7214406 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse PCYT1A. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Choline-phosphate cytidylyltransferase A (PCYT1A), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
