Related Product Information for CERK elisa kit
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of Mouse C-C Motif Chemokine 27 (also known as CCL27) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principle of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse CCL27 antibody. CCL27 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse CCL27 Antibody is added and binds to CCL27 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CCL27 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse CCL27. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description

CERK converts ceramide to ceramide 1-phosphate (C1P), a sphingolipid metabolite. Both CERK and C1P have been implicated in various cellular processes, including proliferation, apoptosis, phagocytosis, and inflammation (Kim et al., 2006 [PubMed 16488390]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

Uniprot Description

Catalyzes specifically the phosphorylation of ceramide to form ceramide 1-phosphate. Acts efficiently on natural and analog ceramides (C6, C8, C16 ceramides, and C8-dihydroceramide), to a lesser extent on C2-ceramide and C6-dihydroceramide, but not on other lipids, such as various sphingosines. Binds phosphoinositides.

Product Notes

The Mouse CERK cerk (Catalog #AAA1603505) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA1603505 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse CERK. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Ceramide Kinase, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
