Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Figure 1. IHC analysis of UPK3A using anti-UPK3A antibody (M06534-1).UPK3A was detected in paraffin-embedded section. Heat mediated antigen retrieval was performed in citrate buffer (pH6, epitope retrieval solution) for 20 mins. The tissue section was blocked with 10% goat serum. The tissue section was then incubated with 1ug/ml rabbit anti-UPK3A Antibody (M06534-1) overnight at 4° C. Biotinylated goat anti Rabbit IgG IgG antibody was used as secondary antibody and incubated for 30 minutes at 37° C. The tissue section was developed using Strepavidin-Biotin-Complex (SABC) with DAB as the chromogen. )

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the uroplakin family, a group of transmembrane proteins that form complexes on the apical surface of the bladder epithelium. Mutations in this gene may be associated with renal adysplasia. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.[provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]

Uniprot Description

Component of the asymmetric unit membrane (AUM); a highly specialized biomembrane elaborated by terminally differentiated urothelial cells. May play an important role in AUM-cytoskeleton interaction in terminally differentiated urothelial cells. It also contributes to the formation of urothelial glycocalyx which may play an important role in preventing bacterial adherence ().

Product Notes

The UPK3A upk3a (Catalog #AAA1752379) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Uroplakin3a Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Uroplakin3a can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). IHC: 1:1000-1:500 FC/FACS: 1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the UPK3A upk3a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Uroplakin3a, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
