Biological Significance
TulP3 is a member of the tubby gene family of bipartite transcription factors. Members of this family havebeen identified in plants, vertebrates, and invertebrates, and they share a conserved N-terminal transcriptionactivation region and a conserved C-terminal DNA and phosphatidylinositol-phosphate binding region. The encoded protein binds to phosphoinositides in the plasma membrane via its C-terminal region and probably functions as a membrane-bound transcription regulator that translocates to the nucleus in response to phosphoinositide hydrolysis, for instance, induced by G-protein-coupled-receptor signaling. It plays an important role in neuronal development and function.
Cross-Reactivity
Human
Immunogen
TulP3 antibody was raised in mouse using a full length recombinant protein of human TulP3 (NP_003315) produced in HEK293T cells, as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for short term storage. Aliquot and store at -20 degree C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the tubby gene family of bipartite transcription factors. Members of this family have been identified in plants, vertebrates, and invertebrates, and they share a conserved N-terminal transcription activation region and a conserved C-terminal DNA and phosphatidylinositol-phosphate binding region. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2009]

Product Notes

The TulP3 tulp3 (Catalog #AAA833790) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's TulP3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB). IF: 1:100 WB: 1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TulP3 tulp3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TulP3, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
