This gene encodes a trypsinogen, which is a member of the trypsin family of serine proteases. This enzyme is expressed in the brain and pancreas and is resistant to common trypsin inhibitors. It is active on peptide linkages involving the carboxyl group of lysine or arginine. This gene is localized to the locus of T cell receptor beta variable orphans on chromosome 9. Four transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]

AAA Biotech's Trypsin-3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Neutralization. Dilution: Neutralization:The antibody was preincubated with the enzyme at different molar ratios at RT for 30 minutes. The enzyme was then assayed with a fluorogenic peptide substrate. 50% of the proteolytic activity was inhibited by the antibody at approximately 0.15ug/ml(IC 50) under conditions in which the enzyme was present at 0.03ug/ml and the substrate concentration was 10uM. Considering the molecular masses of the enzyme (26kD) and the antibody (150kD), IC 50 was achieved at approximately 1:1 molar ratio of the antibody to the enzyme. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PRSS3 prss3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
