Related Product Information for anti-TNF antibody
Recognizes sheep tumor necrosis factor (TNF) alpha, a 17.5kD cytokine expressed by many different stimulated cell types including monocytes, macrophages, endothelial cells, fibroblasts and both T and B-lymphocytes.

The production of TNF alpha is induced by a variety of factors, dependant upon cell type and includes bacterial toxins, IL-1,PDGF, IFN beta, NGF, oncostatin M and viral infections. Thepresence of TNF alpha is responsible for diverseimmunomodulatory, anti-tumor and toxic effects and undercertain conditions is also capable of self-stimulation andinhibition.

Uniprot Description

Cytokine that binds to TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. It is mainly secreted by macrophages and can induce cell death of certain tumor cell lines. It is potent pyrogen causing fever by direct action or by stimulation of interleukin-1 secretion and is implicated in the induction of cachexia, Under certain conditions it can stimulate cell proliferation and induce cell differentiation. The TNF intracellular domain (ICD) form induces IL12 production in dendritic cells.

Product Notes

The TNF tnf (Catalog #AAA6249372) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TNF alpha (Biotin) reacts with Bovine, Sheep and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TNF alpha can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Flow Cytometry (FC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Immunohistochemistry: Frozen sections. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Other applications not tested. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TNF tnf for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TNF alpha, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
