A test is defined as the amount (ug) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 ul. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal /formance in the assay of interest
Biological Significance
The RMT1-4 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse TIM-1, a member of newly identified T cell immunoglobulin domain, mucin-like domain gene family. TIM family of proteins are transmembrane proteins expressed by CD4 T cells. Recent studies demonstrate that the TIM family, particularly TIM-1, plays a critical role in immune responses that regulate the development of atopic diseases. Human TIM-1 is a functional receptor for hepatitis A virus. In humans, certain polymorphic variants of TIM-1 are strongly associated with protection against atopy, and this association occurs only in individuals who have had past infection with hepatitis A virus. Activation of T cells through TIM-1 by HAV or by its natural ligand may affect T cell differentiation and the development of Th2-driven allergic inflammatory responses.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C. Do not freeze. Protect from light.

TIM-1: May play a role in T-helper cell development and the regulation of asthma and allergic diseases. Receptor for TIMD4. In case of human hepatitis A virus (HHAV) infection, functions as a cell-surface receptor for the virus. May play a role in kidney injury and repair. Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. TIM family.

Product Notes

The TIM1 havcr1 (Catalog #AAA834695) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's TIM1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). FC: <= 0.25 ug/test A test is defined as the amount (ug) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 ul. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal /formance in the assay of interest. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TIM1 havcr1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TIM1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
