Related Product Information for anti-TFIIB antibody
Such factors can be divided into two major functional classes: the basal factors that are required for transcription of all Pol II genes, including TFIIA, TFIIB, TFIID, TFIIE, TFIIF and TFIIH; and sequence-specific factors that regulate gene expression. The basal transcription factors and Pol II form a specific multiprotein complex near the transcription start site by interacting with core promotor elements such as the TATA box generally located 25-30 base pairs upstream of the transcription start site. Template commitment is established by the initial binding of TFIID to the "TATA" element of the promotor, a step which may be facilitated by TFIIA. TFIIB then acts as the bridge between TFIID and RNA polymerase II.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the general transcription factor IIB, one of the ubiquitous factors required for transcription initiation by RNA polymerase II. The protein localizes to the nucleus where it forms a complex (the DAB complex) with transcription factors IID and IIA. Transcription factor IIB serves as a bridge between IID, the factor which initially recognizes the promoter sequence, and RNA polymerase II. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

GTF2B: General factor that plays a major role in the activation of eukaryotic genes transcribed by RNA polymerase II. Associates with TFIID-IIA (DA complex) to form TFIID-IIA- IIB (DAB-complex) which is then recognized by polymerase II. Interacts with the transcription elongation factor TCEA2. Interacts with HIV-1 Vpr. Interacts with GPBP1. Interacts with Epstein-Barr virus EBNA2. Belongs to the TFIIB family.

Product Notes

The TFIIB gtf2b (Catalog #AAA3014246) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TFIIB Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TFIIB can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). WB: 1:1000 ICC: 1:50-200 IHC: 1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TFIIB gtf2b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TFIIB, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
