Related Product Information for anti-RARRES3 antibody
RARRES3 also called Tig3 or RIG1 is an 18kD, 164aa cytoplasmic protein within the LRAT family of growth inhibitory proteins, which are class II tumor-suppressors. RARRES3 is expressed in a variety of cells including epidermal keratinocytes, and may be downregulated in tumor cells and cell lines. It shows phospholipase activity and interaction with type I transglutaminase. A C-terminal hydrophobic region allows perinuclear localization. RARRES3 is not structurally related to other RARRES genes. A canine ortholog shares 72% aa identity within the region used as an immunogen; orthologs are unlikely in rodents.

NCBI Description

Retinoids exert biologic effects such as potent growth inhibitory and cell differentiation activities and are used in the treatment of hyperproliferative dermatological diseases. These effects are mediated by specific nuclear receptor proteins that are members of the steroid and thyroid hormone receptor superfamily of transcriptional regulators. RARRES1, RARRES2, and RARRES3 are genes whose expression is upregulated by the synthetic retinoid tazarotene. RARRES3 is thought act as a tumor suppressor or growth regulator. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

RARRES3: Exhibits PLA1/2 activity, catalyzing the calcium- independent hydrolysis of acyl groups in various phosphotidylcholines (PC) and phosphatidylethanolamine (PE). For most substrates, PLA1 activity is much higher than PLA2 activity. N- and O-acylation activity is hardly detectable. Belongs to the H-rev107 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cell cycle regulation; EC 3.1.1.-

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q23

Cellular Component: integral to membrane

Molecular Function: phospholipase A2 activity; protein binding

Biological Process: negative regulation of cell proliferation; phospholipid metabolic process; lipid catabolic process

Product Notes

The RARRES3 rarres3 (Catalog #AAA6002664) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RARRES3 (Retinoic Acid Receptor Responder Protein 3, RAR-responsive Protein TIG3, Retinoid-inducible Gene 1 Protein, Tazarotene-induced Gene 3 Protein, RIG1, TIG3) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's RARRES3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunocytochemistry (ICC). Suitable for use in Immunocytochemistry. Dilution: Immunocytochemistry: 8-25ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RARRES3 rarres3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RARRES3, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
