Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for frequent use. Aliquot and store at -20 degree C for 12 months.
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a large protein that forms a structural component of the nuclear matrix. The encoded protein interacts with microtubules and plays a role in the formation and organization of the mitotic spindle during cell division. Chromosomal translocation of this gene with the RARA (retinoic acid receptor, alpha) gene on chromosome 17 have been detected in patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2013]

Uniprot Description

NuMA-1: a coiled-coil nuclear protein that is required to establish and maintain mammalian spindle poles. Dissociates from condensing chromosomes during early prophase, before the complete disintegration of the nuclear lamina. As mitosis progresses it reassociates with telophase chromosomes very early during nuclear reformation, before substantial accumulation of lamins on chromosomal surfaces is evident. Two human splice-variant isoforms have been described.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q13

Cellular Component: spindle pole; nuclear matrix; dendrite; chromosome; cytosol; nucleoplasm; Golgi membrane; cell soma; apical part of cell; spindle microtubule; cytoplasm; spindle; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; microtubule binding; structural molecule activity

Product Notes

The NUMA1 numa1 (Catalog #AAA2111277) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Monoclonal Antibody to Nuclear Mitotic Apparatus Protein 1 (NUMA1) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Nuclear Mitotic Apparatus Protein 1 (NUMA1) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunoprecipitation (IP). WB: 0.5-2ug/mL; 1:500-2000 IHC: 5-20ug/mL; 1:50-200 ICC: 5-20ug/mL; 1:50-200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NUMA1 numa1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Phe1700~Hi s2115. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Nuclear Mitotic Apparatus Protein 1 (NUMA1), Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
