Applicable Applications for anti-Neurofilament H, 200kD antibody
Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Application Notes
Suitable for use in Immunoblot and Immunohistochemistry (frozen and paraffin-embedded tissue; no proteolytic treatment required).
Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: 1:10; Incubation Time 1 hr at room temperature.
Immunogen
Neurofilament preparation isolated from calf brain tissue.
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20 degree C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for anti-Neurofilament H, 200kD antibody
Neurofilaments can be defined as the intermediate or 10nm filaments found in specifically in neuronal cells. In the electron microscope neurofilaments appear as 10nm diameter fibres of indeterminate length which generally have fine wispy protrusions from their sides. They are found particularly abundantly in axons of large projection neurons. They probably function to provide structural support for neurons and their synapses and to support the large axon diameters required for rapid conduction of impulses down axons. They are composed a mixture of subunits which usually include the three neurofilament triplet proteins known as NFL, NFM and NFH. Neurofilaments may also include smaller amounts of peripherin, alpha internexin, nestin and in some cases vimentin. Antibodies to the various neurofilament subunits are very useful cell type markers since the proteins are among the most abundant of the nervous system, are expressed only in neurons and are biochemically very stable.

Product Notes

The Neurofilament H, 200kD (Catalog #AAA633089) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Neurofilament H, 200kD (NF-H) reacts with Bovine, Guinea Pig, Human, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Neurofilament H, 200kD can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in Immunoblot and Immunohistochemistry (frozen and paraffin-embedded tissue; no proteolytic treatment required). Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: 1:10; Incubation Time 1 hr at room temperature. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Neurofilament H, 200kD for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Neurofilament H, 200kD, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
