Application Notes
Application Use: For immunohistology and flow cytometry dilutions to be used depend on detection system applied. It is recommended that users test the reagent and determine their own optimal dilutions. The typical starting working dilution is 1:50. For blocking studies in vitro, dilutions have to be made according to the amounts of MGL to be inactivated. The antigen is glutaraldehyde (0.05%) resistant.

Related Product Information for anti-MGL antibody
Product Description: The monoclonal antibody ER-MP23 specifically reacts with the macrophage galactose-specific lectin (MGL), a 38 kDa single chain surface glycoprotein. MGL is found on murine mature macrophages in the connective tissue neighboring epithelia of e.g. salivary glands, capsule of lymph nodes, thymus and various other organs. MGL is present on the surface of connective tissue macrophages and their precursor cells in bone marrow. Also, MGL is expressed in macrophage cell lines (e.g. J774-1.6, RAW309Cr.1 and WR19M.1). Expression levels of MGL are increased in mature macrophages. The antigen is co expressed with the antigen recognized by monoclonal antibody BM8 (HM1066). The monoclonal antibody ER-MP23 has been raised after immunization of rats with mouse macrophage cell lines. Blocking studies demonstrated that the monoclonal antibody ER-MP23 is able to block mouse MGL.

Product Notes

The MGL (Catalog #AAA584265) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MGL, Mouse, mAb ER-MP23 reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MGL can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, IHC-F, IHC-P, FC, FS. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MGL for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MGL, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
