Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes
Applications Validated:
WB: 1-2ug/ml dilution
For optimal results, primary antibody incubations should be performed at room temperature. The addition of 0.1% Tween 20 to all blocking solutions may also reduce background.
Immunogen
This Livin/ML-IAP antibody was raised against a GST-fusion protein corresponding to human Livin/ML-IAP.
Preparation and Storage
Some products may be shipped at room temperature. This will not affect their stability or performance. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles by aliquoting items into single-use fractions for storage at -20 degree C for up to 2 years. Keep all reagents on ice when not in storage.1ug/ul

Related Product Information for anti-Livin/ML-IAP antibody
Short Description: Our Livin/ML-IAP antibody (mAb)(Clone 88C570) was raised in a Mouse host. It has been validated for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western blot; it has been shown to react with Human samples.

Background: Livin (ML-IAP or BIRC7) protects against apoptosis induced by TNF or by chemical agents such as adriamycin, etoposide or staurosporine. Suppression of apoptosis is mediated by activation of MAPK8/JNK1, and possibly also MAPK9/JNK2. This activation depends on TAB1 and NR2C2/TAK1. In vitro, Livin (ML-IAP or BIRC7) inhibits Caspase-3 and proteolytic activation of pro-Caspase-9. Isoform 1 of Livin (ML-IAP or BIRC7) blocks staurosporine-induced apoptosis, while isoform 2 blocks etoposide-induced apoptosis.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis protein (IAP) family, and contains a single copy of a baculovirus IAP repeat (BIR) as well as a RING-type zinc finger domain. The BIR domain is essential for inhibitory activity and interacts with caspases, while the RING finger domain sometimes enhances antiapoptotic activity but does not inhibit apoptosis alone. Elevated levels of the encoded protein may be associated with cancer progression and play a role in chemotherapy sensitivity. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]

Product Notes

The Livin/ML-IAP birc7 (Catalog #AAA388699) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Livin/ML-IAP antibody (mAb)(Clone 88C570) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Livin/ML-IAP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). Applications Validated: WB: 1-2ug/ml dilution For optimal results, primary antibody incubations should be performed at room temperature. The addition of 0.1% Tween 20 to all blocking solutions may also reduce background. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Livin/ML-IAP birc7 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Livin/ML-IAP, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
