Related Product Information for anti-LEC antibody
LEC is a CC chemokine that can signal through the CCR8 and CCR1 receptors. It is expressed in the liver, spleen, and thymus. LEC is chemotactic towards monocytes and lymphocytes but not neutrophils. Recombinant human LEC is an 11.2 kDa protein containing 97 amino acid residues, including the four conserved cysteine residues present in CC chemokines.

NCBI Description

This gene is one of several cytokine genes clustered on the q-arm of chromosome 17. Cytokines are a family of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The CC cytokines are proteins characterized by two adjacent cysteines. The cytokine encoded by this gene displays chemotactic activity for lymphocytes and monocytes but not for neutrophils. This cytokine also shows a potent myelosuppressive activity and suppresses proliferation of myeloid progenitor cells. The expression of this gene is upregulated by IL-10. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Function: Shows chemotactic activity for lymphocytes and monocytes but not neutrophils. Also shows potent myelosuppressive activity, suppresses proliferation of myeloid progenitor cells. Recombinant SCYA16 shows chemotactic activity for monocytes and THP-1 monocytes, but not for resting lymphocytes and neutrophils. Induces a calcium flux in THP-1 cells that were desensitized by prior expression to RANTES.

Subcellular location: Secreted.

Tissue specificity: Mainly expressed in liver, also found in spleen and thymus. Highly expressed in LPS- and IFN-gamma-activated monocytes, weakly in some lymphocytes, including natural killer cells, gamma-delta T-cells, and some T-cell clones.

Induction: By IL10/interleukin-10.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.

Product Notes

The LEC ccl16 (Catalog #AAA690207) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse Anti-Human LEC reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. ELISA: In a sandwich ELISA (assuming 100ul/well), a concentration of 1-2 ug/ml of this antibody will detect at least 0.03 ng/well of recombinant human LEC when used with PeproTech's biotinylated antigen affinity purified anti-human LEC as the detection antibody at a concentration of at least 1ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LEC ccl16 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "LEC, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
