Specificity
This item recognises the heavy chain of kinesin toward the N-terminus. The epitope is located in the region of amino acids 420-445.Kinesins are microtubule associated motor proteins, responsible for converting nucleoside triphosphate released energy into mechanical energy. Kinesin-1 exists as a homodimer of 120-130kDa chains, known as heavy chains. Associated with this dimer when purified from brain homogenates are light chains of 60-70kDa. The light chains are involved in binding of kinesin to organelles and appear to have regulatory functions. They are not essential for motility generation.

Product Notes

The KIF5B kif5b (Catalog #AAA213375) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MOUSE ANTI KINESIN HEAVY CHAIN reacts with Chicken (Expected from Sequence), InVertebrates (Expected from Sequence), Mammals (Expected from Sequence) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's KINESIN HEAVY CHAIN can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology Frozen, ELISA (EIA), Immunoblotting (IB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistology Paraffin, Western Blot (WB). Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 1/500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KIF5B kif5b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "KINESIN HEAVY CHAIN, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
