Biological Significance
Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a lentivirus that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), a condition in humans in which the immune system begins to fail, leading to life-threatening opportunistic infections. HIV has several major genes coding for structural proteins that are found in all retroviruses, and several nonstructural ("accessory") genes that are unique to HIV.
Immunogen
HIV1 tat antibody was raised in mouse using HIV-1 tat epitope mapped to N-terminus of HIV -1 tat as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Aliquot and store at -70 degree C or lower. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles

Uniprot Description

HTATIP2: Oxidoreductase required for tumor suppression. NAPDH- bound form inhibits nuclear import by competing with nuclear import substrates for binding to a subset of nuclear transport receptors. May act as a redox sensor linked to transcription through regulation of nuclear import. Isoform 1 is a metastasis suppressor with proapoptotic as well as antiangiogenic properties. Isoform 2 has an antiapoptotic effect. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Apoptosis; EC 1.1.1.-; Tumor suppressor; Transcription factor; Nuclear envelope; Oxidoreductase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11p15.1

Cellular Component: membrane; cytoplasm; nuclear envelope; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; transcription coactivator activity; oxidoreductase activity

Biological Process: regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; viral reproduction; apoptosis; nuclear import; angiogenesis; cell differentiation; regulation of angiogenesis; negative regulation of apoptosis

Product Notes

The HTATIP2 htatip2 (Catalog #AAA530141) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The HIV1 tat antibody reacts with HIV and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's HIV1 tat can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Neutralization. ELISA: 10-100 ng/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HTATIP2 htatip2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HIV1 tat, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
