NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the Kunitz family of serine protease inhibitors. The protein is a potent inhibitor specific for HGF activator and is thought to be involved in the regulation of the proteolytic activation of HGF in injured tissues. Alternative splicing results in multiple variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
SPINT1: Inhibitor of HGF activator. Also acts as an inhibitor of matriptase (ST14). 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 15q15.1
Cellular Component: extracellular space; membrane; extracellular region
Molecular Function: serine-type endopeptidase inhibitor activity
Biological Process: extracellular matrix organization and biogenesis

Product Notes
The SPINT1 spint1 (Catalog #AAA603498) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Hepatocyte Growth Factor Activator Inhibitor 1 (HAI-1, Serine Protease Inhibitor Kunitz-Type I, SPINT1) (Biotin) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Hepatocyte Growth Factor Activator Inhibitor 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA). Suitable for use in Direct ELISA. Dilution: Direct ELISA: 0.5-2ug/mL. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SPINT1 spint1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Hepatocyte Growth Factor Activator Inhibitor 1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
