For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for anti-LGALS14 antibody
Galectin-14, also known as placental protein 13-like (PPL13), belongs the galectin family of carbohydrate binding proteins. It is expressed intracellularly in placenta and eosinophils and is released by eosinophils following allergen stimulation. Galectin-14 may be involved in the development of allergic inflammation.

NCBI Description

This gene is predominantly expressed in placenta. The encoded protein belongs to the galectin (galaptin/S-lectin) family. The members of galectin family contain one or two carbohydrate recognition domains, which can bind beta-galactoside. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been observed. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

LGALS14: 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.2

Cellular Component: nucleus

Molecular Function: carbohydrate binding

Biological Process: apoptosis

Product Notes

The LGALS14 lgals14 (Catalog #AAA605811) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Galectin-14 (LGALS14 lectin, galactoside-binding, soluble, Charcot-Leyden crystal protein 2, CLC2, MGC22235, Placental protein 13-like, PPL13) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Galectin-14 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blot. Dilution: Western Blot: 2ug/ml with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect human Galectin-14 in cell or tissue extracts under non-reducing conditions only. Lysates were prepared from primary human eosinophils in non-reducing sample buffer, resolved by SDS-PAGE 10ug total protein/lane), and transferred to an Blotting Buffer Blocking Solution Antibody Solution 25mM Tris, pH 7.4 5% nonfat dry milk 5% nonfat dry milk 0.15M NaCl in Blotting Buffer in Blotting Buffer 0.05% Tween 20. Direct ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect human Galectin-14. The detection limit for rhGalectin-14 is approximately 3ng/well. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LGALS14 lgals14 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Galectin-14, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
