Related Product Information for anti-SHANK1 antibody
Ion channels are integral membrane proteins that help establish and control the small voltage gradient across the plasma membrane of living cells by allowing the flow of ions down their electrochemical gradient (1). They are present in the membranes that surround all biological cells because their main function is to regulate the flow of ions across this membrane. Whereas some ion channels permit the passage of ions based on charge, others conduct based on a ionic species, such as sodium or potassium. Furthermore, in some ion channels, the passage is governed by a gate which is controlled by chemical or electrical signals, temperature, or

Uniprot Description

SHANK1: Seems to be an adapter protein in the postsynaptic density (PSD) of excitatory synapses that interconnects receptors of the postsynaptic membrane including NMDA-type and metabotropic glutamate receptors via complexes with GKAP/PSD-95 and Homer, respectively, and the actin-based cytoskeleton. Plays a role in the structural and functional organization of the dendritic spine and synaptic junction. Belongs to the SHANK family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Adaptor/scaffold

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.3

Cellular Component: postsynaptic membrane; neuron projection; membrane; dendrite; cytoplasm; dendritic spine; plasma membrane; ionotropic glutamate receptor complex; excitatory synapse; intracellular; cell junction; N-methyl-D-aspartate selective glutamate receptor complex

Molecular Function: somatostatin receptor binding; protein C-terminus binding; identical protein binding; ionotropic glutamate receptor binding; protein binding; protein complex binding; GKAP/Homer scaffold activity; SH3 domain binding

Product Notes

The SHANK1 shank1 (Catalog #AAA606878) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The DLGAP1 (pan-SAPAP, DAP-1, Disks large-associated protein 1, Gkap, Guanylate kinase-associated protein, PSD-95/SAP90-binding protein 1, rGKAP, SAP90/PSD-95-associated protein 1, SAPAP1) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DLGAP1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry. Dilution: Western Blot:1-10ug/ml Immunocytochemistry:0.1-1ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SHANK1 shank1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DLGAP1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
